Kasese Cobalt Company is looking for materials for its cobalt smelters in Uganda, because its stocks will be used up in the following 4 years (that is to year 2013).
Hence the company wants to use tailings to meet their production demand; the company has the capacity of producing 720 tons cobalt cathode per year.
The owner of the company is MFC Company in Austria. It¡¯s possible that the company will deal with the tailings from a nearby company named Kilembe Mining Company.
The stocks of Kasese Cobalt Company are the cobalt ores from Kilembe mined between 1956 and 1982. Kilembe is abundant in tailings which is almost 5,200,000 tons. Some traders expressed the cost of the smelters was $5,000,000 at most. |
