China\'s battery producers have started to buy cobalt concentrate themselves to process into feed as international prices fall rapidly. The situation is not expected to last long as the price development is "abnormal", said market sources. A Chinese battery producer is believed to have purchased cobalt concentrate with equivalent metal content of 54 tonnes from overseas markets in recent months and the imports are likely to arrive in China in April, according to the sources.
